Description

Restore comfortable mobility, relieve debilitating joint stiffness, and control surgical pain with Vivaldis Firotail Chewable Tablets (Pack of 6), available online at VetMitra. Formulated by Vivaldis Animal Health, Firotail contains Firocoxib, a 3rd-generation coxib-class non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) engineered for high COX-2 selectivity. When dogs suffer from chronic degenerative joint disease (osteoarthritis) or undergo surgical trauma, injured cell membranes release arachidonic acid, which cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes convert into prostaglandins. While COX-2 drives pain, inflammation, and hyperalgesia at the lesion site, COX-1 is a vital "housekeeping" enzyme responsible for maintaining protective stomach mucus, gut mucosal perfusion, and renal blood filtration. Traditional non-selective NSAIDs block both pathways indiscriminately, frequently causing gastric ulcerations, severe gastrointestinal bleeding, and renal distress.Vivaldis Firotail solves this dilemma with targeted coxib pharmacology:High COX-2 Selectivity: Firocoxib exhibits 380- to 430-fold greater selectivity for inducible COX-2 over constitutive COX-1, effectively halting inflammatory prostaglandin $PGE_2$ synthesis at the inflamed joint capsule while sparing COX-1-mediated GI mucosal protection and platelet function.Rapid Clinical Pain Relief: Demonstrates rapid systemic oral bioavailability, achieving peak plasma concentrations within 1 to 2 hours to relieve morning stiffness, hip and elbow pain, and reluctance to jump or climb stairs.Effective Post-Surgical Analgesia: Indicated for peri-operative and post-operative pain management following soft-tissue procedures (spays, neuters, mass excisions) and major orthopedic interventions (cruciate ligament repair, fracture pinning).Palatable Chewable Format: Dogs readily accept the flavored chewable tablets directly from hand or mixed into meals, avoiding the stress of forced pilling.
