Description

Safeguard open wounds from secondary microbial infections, numb local burning and itch discomfort, and accelerate tissue repair with Virbac Lorexane Wound Cream, available online at VetMitra. Traumatic skin insults—such as outdoor abrasions, sharp wire scrapes, bite punctures, leash burns, post-surgical incision sites, and raw patches from allergic self-mutilation—are frequent emergencies for active dogs and curious cats. When the epidermal barrier is breached, opportunistic bacteria (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pseudomonas) and fungal spores contaminate the raw wound bed. In warm, humid environments, open lesions are also prone to housefly and blowfly egg deposition (maggot infestation). Furthermore, localized stinging and pain trigger compulsive licking and biting, tearing open healing granulation tissue and delaying recovery. Virbac Lorexane provides a comprehensive 4-in-1 clinical approach to pet wound care: Broad-Spectrum Antimicrobial Shield (Chlorhexidine + Triclosan): Delivers synergistic antiseptic coverage against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria as well as fungal spores, preventing contaminated cuts from progressing into purulent cellulitis or infected abscesses. Instant Pain & Itch Numbing (Lidocaine): A rapid-acting local anesthetic that blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in peripheral sensory nerve endings. It temporarily desensitizes the painful, burning wound margin, bringing prompt relief and preventing the obsessive licking, nibbling, and scratching that ruins sutures and reopens healing skin. Tissue Regeneration & Granulation (Allantoin): A keratolytic and cell-proliferating agent that stimulates epithelialization and fibroblast activity, accelerating clean granulation bed formation and closing wounds with minimal scar contracture. Deep Hydration & Antioxidant Repair (Aloe Vera + Vitamin E): Natural Aloe barbadensis leaf gel calms raw, erythemic inflammation and keeps the wound bed physiologically moist (essential for optimal cellular migration), while lipid-soluble Vitamin E neutralizes destructive reactive oxygen species (ROS) around damaged micro-capillaries. Gentle & Non-Greasy: Formulated as a smooth, pet-friendly emulsion that absorbs smoothly across delicate dermal margins without forming sticky, dirt-attracting residues.
