Description

Clear stubborn cutaneous microbial overgrowths, halt chronic itching, and restore healthy epidermal barrier function with Virbac Ketochlor Medicated Shampoo (200ml), available online at VetMitra. In tropical and humid climates, canine and feline dermatological cases frequently involve mixed microflora—where opportunistic fungi (especially Malassezia yeast) and coagulase-positive bacteria colonize inflamed, oily, or compromised skin. Standard grooming shampoos or single-active cleansers often fail because clearing bacteria alone can trigger fungal flares, while addressing fungi alone leaves bacterial colonization unchecked. Virbac Ketochlor provides broad-spectrum topical synergy through its dual active ingredients: Potent Antifungal Action (Ketoconazole 1% w/v): An imidazole antifungal agent that inhibits fungal cytochrome P-450 dependent 14-alpha-demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes. This leads to fungal cell wall lysis and clearance of Malassezia pachydermatis, Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes (ringworm). Broad-Spectrum Antiseptic & Antibacterial Defense (Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2% w/v): A fast-acting biguanide antiseptic that binds negatively charged bacterial cell walls, causing cytoplasmic content leakage. It provides bactericidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria (including Staphylococcus pseudintermedius) and Gram-negative organisms, preventing secondary pyoderma and follicular pustules. Degreasing, Descaling & Odor Control: Effectively dissolves excessive rancid sebum, removes greasy crusts, lifts stubborn dandruff flakes, and neutralizes the stale "yeasty/cheesy" odor typical of Malassezia dermatitis. Soothes Inflammatory Erythema & Pruritus: Alleviates constant paw-licking, groin-scratching, and head-shaking caused by allergic or seborrheic dermatitis, giving irritated pets soothing relief. Dual-Species Clinical Versatility: Specially pH-balanced and gentle enough for both dogs and cats when used under veterinary direction.
