Description

Eliminate chronic, deep-seated fungal infections and greasy yeast dermatitis with Savavet K-Pet 200mg Tablets (Strip of 10), available online at VetMitra. Formulated by Sava Healthcare (Savavet), K-Pet is a systemic veterinary oral antifungal containing Ketoconazole IP (200 mg), a proven synthetic imidazole agent engineered to eradicate localized, generalized, and systemic fungal pathogens. When fungal infections take hold—such as widespread ringworm across the body or pervasive Malassezia yeast overgrowth deep in hair follicles and nail beds—topical rinses and sprays alone often fail to reach the deep dermal tissue reservoirs. Savavet K-Pet addresses chronic fungal burdens from within the bloodstream: Fungal Membrane Disruption: Ketoconazole inhibits the fungal cytochrome P-450-dependent enzyme 14α-lanosterol demethylase, blocking the conversion of lanosterol into ergosterol (the core structural sterol of fungal and yeast cell membranes). Targeted Fungistatic & Fungicidal Control: Depleting ergosterol compromises cell membrane permeability, causing cytoplasmic leakage, stunted fungal hyphal growth, and rapid destruction of proliferating yeast colonies. Broad Fungal Spectrum: Highly effective against cutaneous ringworm (Microsporum canis, Trichophyton mentagrophytes), pruritic yeast dermatitis (Malassezia pachydermatis), and deep systemic mycoses. Adjunctive Hyperadrenocorticism Support: In dogs, Ketoconazole also reversibly suppresses adrenal steroidogenesis, making it a recognized clinical alternative for managing pituitary-dependent Cushing’s disease (hyperadrenocorticism) under veterinary supervision.
