Description

Eliminate flesh-burrowing maggots, disinfect contaminated open wounds, and keep blowflies away with Intas D-Mag Wound Care Spray, available online at VetMitra. In tropical climates across India, accidental cuts, paw scrapes, dog bite punctures, leash burns, or surgical wounds present high risks for secondary complications. Ambient heat and humidity provide ideal breeding grounds for flesh flies and blowflies (Calliphoridae, Sarcophagidae). Attracted to serum exudates and decomposing tissues, flies lay eggs that hatch within 12 to 24 hours into destructive fly larvae (maggots). These larvae burrow deep into subcutaneous muscle tissue (cutaneous myiasis), causing extensive necrosis, foul odors, sepsis, and intense pain. Intas D-Mag delivers rapid clinical recovery and protection through a multi-action maggoticidal and antiseptic formula: Contact Maggoticidal Knockdown (Gamma Benzene Hexachloride / Lindane): An organochlorine ectoparasiticide that acts on the nervous system of insect larvae by disrupting GABA-mediated neural transmission. It penetrates deep into necrotic sinus tracts, rapidly paralyzing and killing tissue-burrowing maggots, forcing them to detach and surface for easy debridement. Broad-Spectrum Antiseptic & Tissue Protection (Proflavine Hemisulphate): An acridine-derived bacteriostatic agent effective against Gram-positive bacteria. It retains high antimicrobial activity in the presence of wound exudate, blood, and pus, curbing foul-smelling secondary bacterial infections. Follicular Cleansing & Disinfection (Cetrimide): A quaternary ammonium antiseptic surfactant that helps loosen dried crusts, purulent discharge, and cellular debris while neutralizing surface bacterial contamination. Natural Triple Fly-Repellent Barrier (Neem, Eucalyptus & Turpentine Oils): Infused with pure botanical essential oils that emit a distinct aroma to deter blowflies and houseflies from landing on healing wounds, preventing repeated egg-laying cycles. Touch-Free Aerosol Application: The wide-angle mist allows uniform coverage across tender, raw tissues from a safe distance, minimizing handling pain and stress for anxious or aggressive rescue dogs.
