Intas Cefpet XL 200mg Broad-Spectrum 3rd-Generation Cephalosporin Antibiotic Tablets for Dogs & Cats

Select Variant: 1 strip (10 tablets)

Description

Combat deep cutaneous pyoderma, clear resistant urinary tract infections, and eradicate systemic bacterial pathogens with Intas Cefpet XL 200mg Tablets (Strip of 10), available online at VetMitra. For medium and large dog breeds (such as Labradors, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and Rottweilers), treating deep-seated or persistent bacterial infections often requires multiple lower-strength tablets per dose. This increases medication volume, raises the risk of missed doses, and stresses the pet. Moreover, chronic infections frequently resist first-generation beta-lactams due to bacterial beta-lactamase degradation. Intas Cefpet XL 200mg delivers concentrated bactericidal coverage with enhanced dosing convenience: Targeted Bacterial Cell-Wall Lysis (Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200mg): An orally bioavailable prodrug ester that hydrolyzes rapidly in vivo into active cefpodoxime. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) involved in bacterial cell wall synthesis, blocking peptidoglycan cross-linking and activating autolytic enzymes that break down the bacterial cell wall. Extended Beta-Lactamase Stability: As an advanced third-generation cephalosporin, cefpodoxime resists hydrolysis by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by Staphylococcus pseudintermedius, Staphylococcus aureus, and Gram-negative pathogens, clearing infections where amoxicillin or first-generation cephalosporins have failed. Broad-Spectrum Coverage: Targets Gram-positive skin pathogens (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus) as well as Gram-negative organisms (E. coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida). High Tissue Penetration: Achieves therapeutic concentrations in deep dermal tissues, subcutaneous fluid, bronchial secretions, synovial fluid, and the urinary tract. Convenient Once-Daily Dosing (SID): Extended elimination half-life allows single daily dosing (every 24 hours), reducing stress for pets and pet parents while maintaining steady bactericidal blood levels. High-Strength Economy: The 200mg strength minimizes the total number of tablets required for larger dogs, improving treatment compliance.
